Dapperwing Guide: Mastering Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Dapperwing is an endemic life species required for the "Samin's Research Report" side quest. Here's how to find and capture it:

    Where to Find the Dapperwing

    1. Scarlet Forest Region: The Dapperwing can only be found in the Scarlet Forest, particularly in:
      • Zones 2 and 3: Look for them perched on tree branches or vines near water. Their green coloring blends with the vegetation, but their vibrant hues become noticeable during courtship displays.
      • Area 15 (Waterfall Base) and Area 17 (Above the Waterfall): These areas often have Dapperwings perched on columns or ledges.
      • West Side of Area 12 (Ruins): Another reliable spot to find them resting on upper ledges.
      • Great Lake Shore in Area 17: A ledge overlooking the lake is a favored perch for Dapperwings during daytime.
    2. Seasons and Time: They are easier to spot during the "Season of Plenty" and are more active during the daytime.

    How to Capture the Dapperwing

    • Equip your Capture Net from your hotbar or radial menu.
    • Aim using LT (on controllers) or Right-Click (on PC). Ensure the capture radius glows orange, indicating you're within range.
    • Fire by pressing RT (controller) or F (PC) to secure the Dapperwing.

    Quest Rewards

Upon capturing a Dapperwing, return to Samin at the Windward Plains Base Camp. Completing this quest rewards you with:

    • Crafting materials like Blue Mushrooms and Honey.
    • Experience points towards your Hunter Rank.
    • Additional Guild Points if you capture more than one Dapperwing.

Dapperwings are relatively easy to catch as they don't spook easily, making them a good starting point for exploring endemic life quests in Monster Hunter Wilds.
